Your insurance should no go up as stated earlier in that post. But, not wanting the incident recorded on your car's history gonna cost you all out of pocket.

how should i deal with my insurance, i was thinking of getting the damaged estimated at the dealership say its 2,000$. then contacting my insurance, and let them know, so they cut me a check. then i wanted to go to my local body shop and get it done for half the price, and get an m3 bumper instead? can someone chime in if they have had experience like this. thank you

Unless your car paid for your insurance more likely to make out the check with your name and repair shop name.
If your car paid for you can have the check made out to your name only and use it at will. Contact your insurance and have an adjuster look at it, by the meantime get estimates from another shops too. This will give you some ammo when you meet Insurance adjuster.
good luck

Thank you, here's an update, made a claim the damage was 1500$ total out the door, called my insurance company and they told me to tell my body shop to email them pictures and the estimate. Insurance said it should take a few days to get back and that they would have someone review the pics and go from there. Thanks again everyone for the help.

The shop is very good, they do great work I've dealt with them before and they give lifetime warranty on any cracking or any fading or whatever. Thank you again.

Swerving to avoid a raccoon? Bad idea... higher likelihood of rollover and serious injury than if you just plowed into it... at least you're ok... that's all that matters - the rest is just material.
