Low pressure fuel sensor
Had the low pressure fuel sensor replaced yesterday as I had been getting eml under load.
This issue first occurred around 8 months ago and was told by my local main dealer that the injectors needed replacing, I ignored the dealers diagnostic as the issue was very intermittent. It then started regularly going into limp mode under hard acceleration around 6 months ago and my indie diagnosed possible low pressure fuel sensor fault but couldn't do the work for a couple of weeks. The issue then went away so I left it. 3 weeks ago I again started getting EML under load. Booked the 35I in at a garage near my place of work 2 weeks ago & they found boost pressure pipework from the turbos split, had them replaced and car was fine for a week or so & then the issue started again. Had the low pressure fuel sensor replaced yesterday and have been out for a little jolly this morning & car is now running very nicely indeed. Car feels more responsive, idle is now very smooth. Having driven 17 miles today, combined urban & duel carriageway with an average speed of 31mph it surprisingly returned 29.8mpg So a £200 fix for a, job quoted at over £1600 + VAT by my main dealer which unless they would have changed the lpfs would not have cured the issue. Bloody main dealers

Replacing the sensor seems to have fixed it.

Have you had the HPFP done?
Apparently they are supposed to change both of the fuel pressure sensors when they do the HPFPs but hardly anyone does. They did the low pressure fuel sensor when I had my turbos done and it made the idle much better. Didn't notice fuel economy improve though. |

IYeah had it replaced around at 64k, now on 109k. Just looking back at the invoice and it reads; fault logged with electric coolant pump & fuel pressure control, they didn't change any sensors just put a rmfd hpfp on it, which turned out not to fix the problem, changing the electric water pump fixed it. Cost for the unneeded hpfp was £682 & the water pump replaced 3 days later cost me a further £928
