I have a 2006 E91 Touring (yes I'm in the UK) my Phone function has died the display just shows 2 horizontal lines now. I presume the MULF module is the culprit. I want to know if I can fit a Mulf 2 module in my car and is it plug and play.

No Mulf modules in 2006 only a TCU.

Not true, my EU 2006 E91 has a mulf and has it replaced also. Mulf 2 or even combos will fit also (but coding required)

We didn't get Mulf in the US till 07 and then it still came bundled with
a TCU 1.5 . The Mulf was under the TCU in that model year no
Mulf 2 here till around 08 I believe. Different Telephone standards maybe.
Even the BMW entertainment training PDF from 06 does not mention a Mulf , only
a TCU.

bottom line check what's in your trunk.

6FL option required to activate Mulf 2 hi with usb I believe then you buy a center console
cable with USB on amazon or ebay.
