What would you say or think if.....

Staying at my parents this weekend and every weekend I am here a little rough looking Honda S2000 breaks the peace and quiet.

It's a very quiet private street but the car goes up and down all night. Sometimes 20-30 times per evening normally running into the early hours.

It's got a loud exhaust so it's very noticeable.

Not quite sure what he is up to with the frequency and times of his short journeys.

I don't know the person to approach but wonder if that would be sensible in the first place. Without knowing him I'm still thinking he is up to no good.

There could be all manor of explanations as to why he makes so many of these journey's - but the fact that he's doing it with a twat of a noise following him, makes things worse. I'd start off by doing a little bit of digging - go to the nearest local and make some enquiries - try and find out a little more about the person before you make any rash decisions.

if all that fails - kick the crap our of him

Contact your local council and report it as a noise nuisance. The council will then send an inspector out who will monitor the events and record the noise level. Assuming it is deemed high and environmentally intrusive, the person responsible can then be issued with a warning or a noise abatement order.

....selling drugs would be my first guess. Be careful.

You could see if the car has tax etc. and get the police interested that way if anything is amiss.

That would certainly explain the nature and frequency of the short journeys.
It never fails to amaze me how so many drug dealers ride around in showy cars, when surely you'd want to blend into the background -surely a rep-spec vectra or Mondeo would be a better bet?!

I'd call the police, play the "concerned son staying with parents" card and tell then exactly what's going on. You don't need to say what you think is happening - let them put two and two together.

Get the index and tell the police - you can tell them what you think .... they won't pass it on.

TBH odd car to deal in - most people dealing have normal cars. Probably just an idiot.

The police are certainly the people to call if the noise bothers you and your parents but I think we're jumping to conclusions with the drugs thing. We had a family opposite us for a while who did this. Just crap parents and teenage sons. Nothing to do with drugs, we just resigned ourselves to living near the Clampetts again.

All the houses are detached and have private driveways with garages.

I don't have any reason to head up to the top of the street let alone walk up his drive.

It's always in the evening with Friday and Saturday night being the most popular. I've tried to keep an open mind but I can't find any legitamate reason why he would continously make short trips of less than 20 mins all night returning back for 5 mins at a time.

Obviously delivering something but it's hardly if you can run a food take away from a house. Also dial a drink services can't gain an alcohol licence for a private address or operate after 10pm in Scotland.

I'd feel a dick for saying something only to be wrong. As said before on noise grounds alone there is already room for complaint.

Prob a kid. Goes to car park to see other boy racers. Pops home then to another car park so on, so on.

Maybe a petty drug dealer selling small amounts.

Even so, doubt much can be done unless exhaust is illegal.

WTfF?

Firstly, establish if he is a cunt using above method of digging, or....go to his house and ask his "ma" if he is a cunt.

If he is not a cunt, just approach him and ask him to stop behaving like a cunt

If he is a cunt, shoot him in the face and burn his house down.

Thats how we roll in Belfast

Oh, a bit of rioting usually helps too, you know.....bottles, bricks and what not.

Highly unlikely he's a drug dealer. Small time dealers ALWAYS drive something with 4 seats for "back up" and big time dealers drive RRSs and don't need to "pop out". The car just doesn't fit the bill.

Probably doing deliveries for a local takeaway or just some little oik with no mates that keeps popping out to see if there's anyone to impress at the local carpark/strip/chav hang out.
