I agree with above, OEM is best and the dealer should make the price comparable to aftermarket.

The same specs as the one that came out. Same type lead-acid (non-AGM) or AGM and capacity (Ah rating).

Otherwise you need to program the car for the new type and capacity. If you keep same specs, you do not need to re-program but it is recommended to register the replacement so the car knows it has a new battery to maintain.

East Penn, Douglas, and Exide are OEM suppliers for BMW batteries. You get the same part for less because it doesn't have the branded BMW logo on it.

I run an Exide

H8 AGM from a known brand will give you no issues, you can also get away with lead-acid if your car came with it. Currently running an H8 Exide Lead Acid on my 2006 BMW 325i. Remember to register and code in the battery.

Just put oem battery in. Had alot of codes due to low voltage. Wemt cheap with interstate battery that replaced the oem. Didnt have the codes. Spend the extra.

This is nonsense. Any H8 battery from any reasonable brand will be fine. Walmart Everstart Maxx H8 is what I have in my 325i and it's perfectly fine. The last battery it replaced was a Duralast Gold H8 from Autozone that was nearly 10 years old.

Of course if you have a good relationship with your dealer and you can get a good price on the OEM battery that's great, but there's no need to spend 2x or more for a BMW branded battery when there are plenty of suitable alternatives that are much less expensive.
