OEM plugs and coils?

Hey fellas, sorry new to BMWs. I just bought a 2011 328i xdrive inline 6. What are the oem spark plugs and coils that come in them please? To many opinions around. My new to me 328 has 115k miles, so what's in it may not be oem (probably not).

Thanks in advance,

Jody

Try FCP euro. They've got a lifetime warranty on everything you purchase. Consumables such as this are a no brainer if your hanging onto the car for any length of time!

That's where I ordered from.

It was good that I took off all the plastics to look. I also ordered a new valvetronic gasket because it's leaking as well.

Thanks man, much appreciated

NGK are OE plugs. Original OE coils are Bosch and are currently (and better) Delphi.

I've replaced my spark plugs twice due to VCG oil leaks and my most recent replacement was Bosch double platinum from Amazon. They have worked out great so far and are pre-gapped. Generally, I hate using amazing for parts though. I got burned once with a bad part.

Make sure to apply anti-seize on the threads and torque it properly.

As an FYI, I realize it is common practice, but you shouldn't apply anti-seize to your spark plugs and then torque them to spec. If you do, you are over torquing the threads. NGK plugs in particular state not to use anti-seize at all, as they have a release coating on the threads already applied.

That's correct. If there is something on it don't apply. I used Bosch and I don't recall it having it already. I assume the torque spec would factor in some sort of anti-seize either way though.

It doesn't. You're supposed to reduce it by 20-30%, but it's really a guess since you can't account for how much anti-seize is on the threads. Pretty much all modern plugs for passenger cars are treated—if they have shiny threads, that look as if they are chromed, they are treated. You can look at the FAQ's for the Bosch plugs that says not to use anti-seize.
