One key/fob has stopped working completely
Any advice for a key that suddenly stops working?
BMW E90 330d 2006, has comfort access. Key was working fine, no warning on the dash to say battery was low, locked the car and when I came back to it the car wouldn’t unlock, used the physical key but the alarm kept going off, none of the buttons on the fob would work and couldn’t start the car. Got the spare key and the spare key worked fine. Thought it may be the battery in the other key so put a new battery in and it still doesn’t work. As I said, spare key functions fine so to me something other than the battery has failed in the other key? I didn’t think it would be to do with the car? Any advice is appreciated, thank you! |

https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1510527 If you stick a comfort access key in the dash socket it should work even without a functioning battery to start the car. If it doesn't then then it is definitly bad or has lost it's pairing with the car. Did it go through the wash? |

Yes so the key does nothing, none of the buttons work and if you put it in the dash it does nothing either. I did manage to take the key part to look at the PCB, I don’t really know if I’m looking for something specific but a visual check doesn’t seem to show anything obviously wrong/broken on the PCB. No, never been through the wash or has gotten wet etc |
