Could I get the Koni shocks and pair them with the eibachs for my front and leave the Bilsteins in the rear? Since I have an E92 front rake is not an issue for me with my current setup.
Yes you could do this. Bilstein shocks are awesome but they're very harsh riding I think if you went with the koni you would love it. I speak from experience since my Shelby GT500 has Bilstein HD shocks and they are very, very rough riding.

The konis at soft setting with the eibach Pro kit rides like a dream and on for the hard setting is still very awesome.

I totally would recommend the koni's over the bilstein.

No problem guys. Love the struts!

We typically keep one kit shortened, on the shelf, and ready to ship!

I think this should be a sticky! Everyone who decides to lower should know about this option. I have the Eibach springs with the SP perches, so I don't have the rake problem, but I am always kitting my bump stops. So I am considering getting these struts. I'm not really happy with my Bilstein struts either.

I occasionally bottom out the suspension with koni yellows on eibachs and I cringe everytime I do it. What's the price for the shortened koni yellows?

$200/strut to shorten them, plus the price of the strut ($227.50)

The options are endless. Eibach a lower the car 1.5 inch front and so I would opt for a 1inch strut drop and a 1/2 inch perch raise.

This will give 2 inch drop front and only loosing 1 inch of strut travel vs 1.5. Once the E36 m3 stop is used which is .5 shorter allows the perfect setup.

Also to be noted the XI bump stops are horrible and the E36m3 stops are very progressive and soft.

So if I'm following you here, using the Eibach springs and E36 bump stops you are only decreasing the travel by 1".

I think your car looked great after you did the Eibachs. Was your concern mostly that you were bottoming out, or that you did not like the height of the front and wanted it lower?

What is wrong with just going with koni yellows/e36m or z3m stops/eibachs. Seems to be about 150 cheaper than the tc Kline package. Any insight?

I have that exact setup and I have bottomed out the suspension a few times. A few potholes here, a few railroad tracks and some uneven pavement abutment. I don't know if i'm driving too fast or if its comparible to the normal sports suspension (look up pothole explosion).

I'd be jumping onboard but having the lingering fear that too much travel may cause me to catch the rocker panel or something else.

With .5 inch of increased travel will not cause you to bottom out. The shocks and struts play no part in the lowering of the car unless you don't raise your perch back up which I did.

The difference between yours and mine is when you hit a pot hole your so close to your bump stop they pretty much engage immediately and they take all the hit.

With mine I have about .6 of an inch travel so the shock starts absorbing the hit first and then then the bump stop. In the end I am only .5 inch lower than with the factory koni struts but my car rides great.

Do you think the bilstein sports with internal bumpstops would ride better with the eibachs or maybe h&r's?

For the money, I'm having a hard time seeing the justification here. $375 per front strut to gain a half inch of travel in the damper.

V1s are a better deal, or even more budget friendly the Eibach, Bilstein/Koni, and M3 & Z4 bump stops.

Am I missing something?

V1's are around $1600+

The konis are $800, eibach $249, bump stops $40.

$1089 is a far cry from $1600. That's a downpipe or jb4.

I gained a inch of travel. I lowered .5 inch.

These allow to kill the rake, ride better, and gain strut travel.

For the money I would take the adjustability, but that's me. Also H&R coil overs are $1,279.

Every adjustment requires an alignment so to me its not worth it. I dont think coilovers will ride as smooth as mine does, and definitely not a cheap coilover kit.

TCKline has a threaded perch that can be purchased and installed on the konis as well. Keeping the cost still $400-500+ below coilover kits.

OP good stuff finding this alternate solution and the car looks great!

However I just want to clarify for other members that your theory on KW V1's being so much more expensive than the option you chose is false.. I paid around $1,250 shipped for my KW V1's for my XI from one of the leading vendors on this site and KW does offer a lifetime warranty plus that little difference in price is definitely worth it to be able to slam the car in the summer and raise it back to stock height for the winter if it is your daily driver in a snowy area.. I don't think it is fair to bash other suspension options just because you are happy with what you chose.
