I think it will work with other hardwired cables - but bluetooth adapters specifically the cheap ones you see everywhere, had major connection and reliability issues. You don't want your adapter dropping packets in the middle of coding..

That's the exact reason why I was never a fan of bluetooth adapters. I'm sure respectable companies can produce reliable units these days, but I feel a bit safer using the hardwired approach.

Can one coding/diagnostic license be used to code my e90 and wife’s e84? Or do I have to buy two? Seems easier than getting the laptop out every time I want to change something.

The license is not locked to a VIN. It's locked to one Google account.

I had the app crash every time after the recent update.
Solved it by reinstalling the app.
Can't wait for F series support and more features.
Haven't tried or seen the expert mode yet.

I found that when you select a module, you get the expert option, but when I select it; I get prompted for a password! I didn't see anywhere on the app to set a password, so not sure what is the correct one.

Yes, you can view functionality on their website. Also know from personal ownership of licenses.

Does anyone know how to use ProTool to get sport displays within iDrive? I have CiC on my '10 e90 lci 335xi. I was able to get the M drive menu in settings, as well as M key when M drive is not on. These only work to click into one parameter once (say power), then will not work after. This is because I do not have an M car probably, so useless.

I have seen people try to put power gages in. Would this work and is it possible with ProTool?

Sport display won't work with E series and as you found out, the MDrive menu and settings are useless on a non M car.

They just unlocked the expert mode.
Looks very scary without some documentation.
I'm pretty sure this is going to be very powerful.

Question: when I change some setting in the Footwell Module; it asks to recycle ignition. Somehow managed to do it for enabling 5 blinks on my other keyfob, but tried it today on my main key and couldn't get it working.

What exactly is recycle ignition?

When I was coding with ProTool, I did it with the car running. I simply turned the car off, pulled out key (auto eject), inserted key, and started car again. Worked every time for me.

Oh, I only had the 'radio ready' mode on (engine wasn't running). I'll try that tomorrow. Thanks.

Very interested in this expert mode. I won't get to test it till Monday.

Hi all, I bought a tablet specifically for this protool and mhd.
Looks like this tablet I bought is pretty slow, can the licenses be transferred to another tablet with the same google play account?

Also, is there some sort of list that shows what each function is or does?
Some functions in the coding lists give brief explanations of what it does, and others don’t.

I have a handful of things I want to code but have no idea what they would be listed under?!

One thing I want to do is make the halos and headlights brighter and also have the halos light up when the doors are unlocked, plus much more.
E90
Thanks in advance

Their webpage lists some but not everything. I wish they did.
There is just so many options and I believe they vary based on the car series/options. So not an easy task of documenting it.

Sorry, no idea. I did manage to make fog light come on when unlocking.

Thanks for the reply.

Yea, I looked at the few options they had on their site but there’s so much more and I have no clue what most are for.

How do you code yours?
At first I coded digital speedo and it worked, after that I tried to code fogs with high beams on and it kept saying cycle ignition and nothing coded.

A friend has a 2010 e92 and the halos light up when the door is unlocked so that would be cool to hav get on mine. I read somewhere it had to be coded into my car.

According to NathanK24, cycle ignition means having the car running, do the changes, turn off the car, take the key out, then start it again.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I just did some more coding.
Finally got my side mirrors closing.
I had the car on and would shut it off after each code. Although it seemed like it was coding while the car was on.

I clicked “disable brake pad wear sensor” or something along those lines and my dash brake light stayed on.
Put new pads on 2 days ago.
Was also able to code out license plate light check(because I put led bulbs)
4/12 things I want to code I have done, the other 8, I have no clue what to look for.

Halos light up when door is unlocked(welcome lights?)
Brighter halos
Brighter headlights
Disable brake pad wear sensor
Reset fog light frm (so my left fog light can work again)
Driver door window rolls up automatically when driver door is open.
Brake lights blink when strong force is applied to them

One feature I would like, but not sure if its codable on any platform/program, is to have the rest climate button serve as “all” button when the car is on. “All” as in it changes the passenger climate to the drivers climate without turning the passenger knob. Some e9X have this “all” feature. Would be cool to use my rest button as an ALL button when the car is on, as the rest button doesn’t do anything until the car turns off.
