E90 original water pump identification?

Is there any way of telling if my e90 water pump has ever been changed? I just picked it up with 146k and would love to tell whether the pump was changed or not before changing a potentially new pump.

If you have a 06 the thermostat is originally metal, look at the bolts on the waterpump do they have the blue marks on the heads? If so original.

Any bolts that have blue paint on them are original single use, that's a good way of checking.

You can also check with the BMW store to see if it's been replaced at a dealer.

If the thermostat is metal then the waterpump is probably original. New thermostat is plastic now.

Just ordered a new pump and tstat. Figured if it's still the original it's coming out... If it isn't the original there I no way of knowing if it was put in 10k miles ago or 80k ago?

Changed out the pump and thermostat this weekend. Was still the original pump at 149000 miles! Was much harder than writeups because mine is awd...
