That is a big barrier for guys with pro radio and L7.
But how does it handle the multiple channels.
Since L7 has 9 channels and the deck almost all decks have
4.

Also is the processor any faster.

I am guessing you would still need a parallel or
remount of the stock unit for car diagnostics .
Which is one of the major drawbacks to putting
aftermarket HU's in a BMW.
The channels are all split out in the amp, not the head unit. The dynavin just sends in the right and left channels and the amp does the rest.

I tested the L7 most adapter in my car....probably a year ago when it was in development....and it worked fine as I recall...center channel was active, all speakers worked. I dont recall if it was a 2 of 4 channel input but all of the outputs worked....Based on my previous experience with other MOST adapters I would guess its probably 2 channel input.

One other related thing to point out for those of you with the later E90s with the warning chimes that play through the car speakers, Dynavin accessed those via the canbus so that the new head unit can generate the chimes, the PDC chirps, etc.... That way you dont loose them when you take out the head unit. It will be a selective option so the guys with the earlier cars (that have a separate speaker for chimes) can turn it off.

I dont know the processor specs but the hardware is all new, nothing shared with the old units.... The unit seems pretty snappy and seems to render the nav graphics better than the older units so whatever its using seems sufficient to the task.

Yes there is still the BMW diagnostics roadblock.....although BMW dealers seem to be the only ones who cant seem to get past it, plenty of indys seem to be able to do it. But now that most E90s are well out of warranty I think its a minor issue at this point. Ive had aftermarket head units in my car for 4 years....never been an issue. BUT, I do keep the stock one around, just in case!

This is very very appealing.

Please tell Dynavin to put in an HD radio. Other then that, This has everything I am looking for. Its about time, someone was able to come up with a gismo that countered the L7 fiber optics issue.

As long as it sounds good, has say 50 x 4 watts per channel by itself, and jus reasonably priced (under 750.00), this will sell like hotcakes in the e90 world for those of us who do not have idrive and the navigation option.

I don't see the USB or ipod port on the front panel

Do they provide and extension to run it to the center console
or glove box, with center console being preferred.

HD Radio is so common in the US now but most of the channels
are still next to big metro area's , and it free.

The iPhone connection - does it allow for playing and displaying songs from streaming services such as Spotify?

USB is on the back, I expect it will come with an extension (the current models do) to run to the glove compartment. The ipod is run via USB so you just plug your ipod cord into the USB and you are good to go, eliminates the need for lightning plug adapters etc...

Since its just USB there are lots of options on how you could "finish" the install, you could just run it to the glove compartment, ashtray, or console, or get fancy and install a flush panel mount USB or cut into or replace the stock USB that some cars have.

A2DP bluetooth streaming:

Then I plugged in my ipod cord into the USB:

track buttons worked either way.....album art was there when plugged in. Honestly I didnt really think it would work but it looks like it works nicely!

With the LCI HVAC controls with the integrated seat heater buttons, many of us wouldn't need to do the ashtray conversions either! This is sounding better.

Jeff can you comment on the fidelity of the audio?

Ive got a bunch of aftermarket stuff and Im running an MS-8 so how my particular car sounds is not relevant to most people.

With that said it does sound great, but it sounded great before with my old dynavin so no change there. Im not using the EQ or time alignment since I have the MS-8 but those two features should allow you to dial in a pretty decent sound compared to prior units with their simple bass and treble controls.

One thing that is a noticeable improvement in my car is that the new N6 has less/no noise, I had to carefully set all my levels and gains with my previous Dynavin D99+ to get rid of various low level noises present. The N6 seems pretty quiet in that regard...no odd ipod clicks or squeals, no bluetooth static, etc... probably due to the 4volt RCAs and greatly simplified internals.

Great news...it will be great to see more detailed information on how it works and ties into the L7 system.

PM, check out our website, or email me for that kind of info. I don't like posting pricing specifics since they change over time....and these forum posts are forever!

I'm interested in an integrated solution like this.
I have BT and Logic7 in my car. I currently have an Nexus 7 for Nav and other features.

I'd swap this in if the price is right. With a MOST adapter it makes it interesting.

You know better than to ask me that! Thats a good way to get me banned. Haha...You guys can post about it all you want but its against the rules for me to do it so keep it non-commercial Q&A (from me at least) until I work out a deal with the site mods.

That answer is pretty easy to find....
I was just looking for the msrp. Couldn't find it on the web. Anyone seen it?

Time Line ?

Does anyone know the time line this will go into production and be available for purchase?

I am guessing price will be $850 - $1000.00 based on the price of the current model on ebay and other sites. Although, I think they would sell more of them at $750.00 considering that they are competing against the big names like Pioneer, Alpine, Kenwood and others just to name a few.

Once Dynavin is household name, then they can charge the big $$.

Just my 2 cents.

Not really....since the one in my car is a prototype it doesnt have the final lighting setup so I dont really want to post something misleading....

what are you looking for? The final button lighting will be the same as all the other dynavin stuff....the correct BMW amber color and brightness, it does dim via the canbus commands, same as the stock head unit.

I could take some pics of the LCD but they wont mean much since camera exposure etc... have a lot more to do with the way it appears than the actual screen brightness. You will have to take my word on it, the new screen dimming setup looks good...

EDIT: well I went out to the garage and took a few pics and they came out pretty decent.....not quite the finished product but still looks pretty good...you can see how dark the LCD is, no "glow" at all.

I think you are a little mixed up.....if your car has L7 and you use the MOST adapter you leave the entire stock audio system intact....no need for a MS-8 or similar. OR if you WANT to install an MS-8 or any other processor/amp then you would NOT use the MOST adapter as you would connect the MS-8 to the dynavins RCA outputs.

There's never been a PDC error code that I'm aware of? But I would assume the "SOS" warning will still be there for cars with BMW Assist. As it's always been with assist equipped cars your choices are to ignore it, or code the car to remove the assist option.

On a different subject...I got around to getting my backup cam setup with the new unit .....my car has PDC so you can see the PDC graphic displayed in the upper right of the screen, how the backup cam and PDC are displayed is configurable.

Interesting addition for cars with the steering angle sensor info on the cars Canbus, the screen shows curved "assistance" lines that show where your car is going based on steering angle etc.... My particular camera also shows distance lines so there is alot going on from this screen! I had to play around with the camera mounting angle a bit to get it so that the lines all matched up well enough with the PDC info.....I suspect your results may vary depending on the camera, the angle, and the effort put into getting everything dialed in.

I just put the ms-8 in the configuration since it is a widely known general consensus that the ms-8 is a much better sounding amp then the OEM.
