USB and Aux Input dead
I just took possession of a 2010 E90 LCI. It has the S6FLA option from the factory. The Aux IN volume is stuck at zero (in idrive menu) and the USB doesn't read drives, but it provides power.
I also have a code ULF-SBX-HI not communicating S 0112 in ISTA. I am able to still use voice commands and BT to my phone. I have searched for the ISTA code with no luck and looked at many threads. I am still trying to wrap my head around how many different combinations and modules BMW has and how to repair the issue. Any help would be appreciated. Here is the decoded vin options I thought where relevant. S609A Navigation system Professional S615A Expanded BMW Online Information S620A Voice control S639A Preparation f mobile phone cpl. USA/CDN S645A BMW US Radio S655A Satellite tuner S697A Area-Code 1 for DVD S6AAA BMW TeleServices S6ABA Control for Teleservices S6FLA USB/Audio interface S6UHA Traffic Information Here is a link to the junk in my trunk. The Mulf2 module is under the TCU 1.5 module or should
be .(called ulf when your looking it up in tis) Aux and USB also go through a USB Hub on some models. There will be a fuse for each.(for starters) https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/ try searching for usb hub and ulf in the above link. https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...rview/CrdM0Ih5 https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...agram/B3QBaS2i https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...rview/CsNcm78V F13 Telephone USB hub F26 TCU and/or ULF till 7/09 build Last edited by ctuna; 12-04-2018 at 08:34 PM.. |

Well I checked power to the MULF2 module on the rt/ge wire and I get a solid 12 volts and ground (br) is also good. When I pull the harness out of the MULF2 module the USB power in the center console goes away. Seems like maybe the module has gone bad?
Is there a method to check the MOST bus to see if that is the problem or anything else before I look at getting a new module? Last edited by zinner; 12-04-2018 at 09:20 PM.. |

What about the USB Hub does that have power?
Located under the driver side kick panel I believe. If there was a Most Bus problem your stereo wouldn't work as in no sound. (assuming you have Logic 7)The phone wouldn't work either. Anything bad on the Most bus stops everything on the Most bus. You can get used mulf2 hi of ebay for about 70 bucks now you do have to program it to your car usually. You might get Lucky but I think at least you should have
the Vin number changed to match your car. Done with tool32 I believe. To code back to stock or original settings on a per module basis 1. Load NCSExpert. 2. Load Profile and select Expertmode 3. F1 (VIN/ZCS/FA) 4. F3 (ZCS/FA f .ECU) 5. Choose E89 (for the E9X) 6. Select CAS 7. F6 (BACK) 8. F4 (Process ECU) 9. Select the Module I want to Revert back to Stock. 10. F2->Choose "SG_Codieren->ok 11. F3->to start coding the ecu with factory settings according to the vehicle VO. Read the next link be sure to turn of manipulation as indicated to direct the parameters to come from CAS rather than the Man file. https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=867263 Not sure if the above changes the VIN but it gives the stock settings. https://www.google.com/search?q=chan...nt=firefox-b-1 Last edited by ctuna; 12-05-2018 at 05:34 PM.. |

Cool thanks for all the help ctuna, I have done some coding with Esys now it's time for NCS expert. I will report back on my success or roadblocks whenever the MULF2 arrives.

Its always good to record your efforts for the rest of us.
The one thing that might be a hang up is the need for and Icom on the most bus for most bus programming. |

good news. I got the module today swapped it in about 10 minutes.
bad news. There is none, the usb/aux in started working perfectly. The bluetooth phone parts also continues to work. I didn't code or do a thing to make it work. That said it was the exact same HW and SW version as my existing mulf2 module. |
