e90 - Case Servo motor placement ,Code?
Got the dreaded 4x4 - DSC errors..
I ve looked at several videos and threads to replace the servo motor from the transfer case. Any one know if I replace the entire servo motor (actuator) will I need to code it into the computers of the car? I was told only the dealer may be able to do this or some shops that have the appropriate equipment. Looked at this as a reference - https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=633200 Thoughts 200 335xi - Manual |

The motor does not need to be coded. I would change the Tcase oil and then reset oil life and run the Tcase calibration function. That can be done with several apps like Bimmergeeks Protool

In my opinion changing transfer oil when there are already error light displaying is a waste of money. It is either the motor or the TC internals.
Unmount the motor, look if the rack inside that the motor moves is stiff. If yes new motor may help, if its loose - TC needs rebuilt. |
