Question Fluid change AND Computer reset..

I am getting all materials required to perform an extensive fluid change, including the manual transmission, front and rear diffs, and the transfer case. My question is twofold:

1. Is it necessary to reset the computer for the transfer case? Has anyone had experience with this? If it is necessary, would you recommend a K+CAN adapter?

2. What fluids are recommended? This is what I was thinking:

Manual Transmission: Royal Purple SynchroMax

Front & Rear Diff, Transfer Case: Royal Purple 75w 90.

Thanks so much for any advice, and happy Thanksgiving!

Where is a reliable source for the K+CAN cable?

Transfer case I would use BMW transfer case fluid, the rest is probably ok, I hear people like redline d6 for mt oil. No computer reset needed. Make sure you open the fill port before the drain plug...

Been told by a BMW master tech to use 75w-140 for diff fluid. Preferably with the friction modifier (LSD oil). I believe that's the recommended weight in alldata anyway.

I would recommend you stick to OEM oil for diff and trans. The MT trans can probably take the spec difference, but the AT or the diff are sensitive and failure resuting from using Redline* is not unheard of.

* Redline is quality oil, so I suspect the same would hold true for other brands, its clearly an issue of out of spec application/
