don't tell me it's not going to work from a reputable company such as actron, i've used their code readers before, just not this particular model

Besides the tools the dealer technicians use such as the GT1, unfortunately no.

But that should change by summer as I know of at least one, and rumors of others, that will make a PC based software and cable. This will be used to read and reset all codes (even non-OBDII), read and reset all adaptation channels and force many of the internal diagnostic tests.

The one I have personally spoke to is AutoEnginuity. They have a product in the works specifically for the N54 engine and will provide similar functionality to the other product with OEM support:

They said they should be ready by late spring but like with planned product releases, I suspect it will be later. The expected pricing will be about $500 which includes the cable and adapter.

Yes, it is expensive and I don't expect this to be in everyone’s tool chest. But it will be invaluable to many down the road.
