E91 off to get fixed

Well other day whilst out driving (toddler loves sleeping in the car lol) the touring lost power (no boost pressure and a wailing noise) spoke to my mate who recons it's a knackered turbo so AA where out this morning to take the car to my mates garage 😏 Here it goes 😔😔😔

Might be wrong and wouldn't want to alarm you, but is yours a automatic? If so it shouldn't be towed far with the rear wheels on the deck

errr any RWD BMW should be flat bed only you better get the rear diff checked and gearbox as well. Typical AA should have at least towed it backwards as worse case scenario

It most certainly isn't marty 😔 when it happened I was sure it was a just a burst pipe but then I started googling and all was revealed 😄
I'm sure it's on around 76k and it's an M47 with the Mitsubishi turbo. Not had it confirmed yet that it's the turbo but by the sounds of it it's most definitely the turbo😏 gonna find out the lowdown tomorrow. I'm praying it's not the turbo but I'm not holding out much hope 😄

Lost power whilst towing my trailer and had it recovered home. No faults stored but when I took round the corner to my indy the management light came on so checked faults again and egr fault stored.

It's had egr cleaned, 2 sensors, something else I can't remember and also the glow plug controllers knackered along with 4 glow plugs so had them all replaced. Covered 157k and does lots of miles every week.

Not got it back yet though. Good luck with yours.

Not really 😄 was gonna try and source the turbo of the alpina D3 that had the M47 engine but turns out it's not a straight as its a garret turbo and mines Mitsubishi turbo 😏
