That cable only works for models up to 3-2007.

Ok. The Bimmer Software cable seems to be the best, fairly inexpensive option at $40 bucks! I havent flashed yet, but it connects to my car and reads codes! Galaxy s3 phone / Bimmer Software cable / 2009 e93.

I found something that may be of interest to some of you guys struggling with cables;

That post describes the process of setting the chip on the cable to work in D-CAN mode. It seems some of the cheap cables come shipped without D-CAN turned on.

There's also this thread (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1116419) which follows similar lines but has mention of the hardware ID of the cable. Some cheap chinese cables have a hardware ID of 0000 instead of 6001.

I got the Bimmer Software cable. I can confirm it's the same build as the ebay/amazon cables, but it does have a green PCB.

It does work on my Nexus 7 with Monoprice OTG cable. 2011 335is "ILA0S"

i keep reading on forums and on amazon reviews about green circuit board vs. white circuit board

sorry to add to the confusion but... don't think color of board really matters, feels more like people trying to find correlations in a product with poor quality control and therefore random failures

this (white circuit board) cable has been working just fine for me when flashing and logging

things i've noticed:

you need to connect the cable while car is in accessory mode and engine off and let the app establish a connection with the ecu before starting
it does not connect if i have the engine running and try to plug things in

I agree with the above poster saying have nothing to do with the green or white board....it has to do with the programming on the chipsets
I've tried all the "fixes" the last two days
I've seen on Amazon and on other BMW boards
For an extra 15 dollars I'd rather get one that's ready to go.

I did a screen shot of the of the white board cable that didn't work when I get the new green board cable I will compare settings side by side and see if there's s difference
