So, if some of you remember, I've probably have the highest mileage E90 here on E90 Post (I'll hit 220K next week). The past year and a half or so I started driving a new route to work that is more dual-lane highway (2-lanes each direction) vs. my old route, which one section isa fantastic 2-lane back country road (17 miles in total) that if connected end-to-end in a circle would put most road courses to shame. I drove that old route every work day for about 4 1/2 years to and from work (160 mile round trip). The old road in a E90 Sport-package car is just a stupendous drive with constant curves and elevation changes, but even for me it got a bit too taxing after 10 hour work days. I started with the new route 18 months ago to ease up on the hammering I gave the old girl on the 'ring, with the hopes of gaining a few more MPGs (which I haven't) and a bit of a more relaxed drive (for me).

Well, yesterday I found myself in need to take my old route because the (new) normal route was way LOADED with traffic due to a concert. As I was taking the "old road" it really brought back how nice of a car the E90 chassis is. It was like I was experiencing the old route for the first time, but remembering how fun it was to drive it again. I was able to match my "well-practiced" lap time...

Thought I'd share. If you drive an E9X, keep it and enjoy it; it will serve you well.

Monaco Blue with black leatherette. It was a fun car for sure, especially coming from a 2000 Honda civic

I know you've said you will drive the car until it dies and hopefully that's a very long time from now but do you have any idea on a replacement?

So, I originally planned on replacing it at 250,000 miles, which should be August 2014. But the way it is running with all the ancillary stuff still working (fingers crossed), and I just redid the suspension at 185K (so it's still pretty fresh - a year ago LOL), I may now run it until 300,000, or about another 3 years. The ATS is on the top of the list if I had to replace it now, if the 3.6 had a manual trans. But the industry is going turbo fours with manual transmissions; I won't buy a gas turbo, they just don't last 200,000 miles. The F30, no thanks; I'd get a Lexus instead. I've had a 3-series since late 1988; it's a pity where BMW is going with their cars IMO.

MY 1999 F150 just broke the front drive shaft yesterday and it's running on just 5 cylinders (I've fixed it 3 times already) so I may just buy I nice used Generation 11 F150 soon (I found one this morning). I was expecting to keep my F150 for 20 years or so, but Ford built pretty crappy vehicles in the late 90's and it's just rusting like the Titanic, and I never like the 90 Deg. V6 in it anyway.

The non-335's not meaning this is bad way are work horses I enjoy driving mine just the same as you do OP. Granted I dont have the nice course you have on way to work its more on ramps, off ramps and traffic but it still serves me well and most reliable car ive had. Im at 107k on my 06 330 6mt, sport,cold,premium.

Once in while when I think there isnt cops and find nice curvy road and open her up a little it is a amazing thing. Its last true bmw indeed with the 335's. Im jealous you have such a nice work drive.

Honestly if its paid off and you still enjoy it, keep it. Not only is it cheaper even if you have 2-3k in repairs a year but it also helps out forum cause I know only 2-3 people have non-335 e90 with that high mileage.
