Degrease the whole area and try again then. Always good to clean up after you're done anyway

Hi humbertob, my 2011 bmw 335i n55 just started doing this. I just ordered a new valve cover gasket and some other gasket. Is there any suggestions you can tell me from the experience you had with this problem?

I had this issue on a 328i near 100k miles and decided to get a new cover as I was nearing 100k mark. The PCV / oil separator diaphragm can go out around that mileage.
So far since September last year the VCG has been solid. I honestly believe frequent oil changes in these cars will prolong gasket and component life across the engine. Still waiting to do the oil pan gasket but oil changes every 3k miles has caused my oil leak to reduce to a minor seepage. Still planning to do the pan gasket soon. |
