I am taking the price down to £5999 for that reason cause I want t quick sale. This car is in a too great condition to let it go for less, so I will study a bit what I could get as a P/X as I would prefer that rather then let it go for £5k :-) Last edited by klaxhu; 01-23-2014 at 07:09 AM.. |

Car is reserved for a viewing tomorrow, someone coming down from Birmingham.
I have never sold a car privately in the UK, anything I need to know in case the guys decide to buy it? Last edited by klaxhu; 01-24-2014 at 04:38 AM.. |

You should tell DVLA that you have sold the car immediately by signing the logbook (V5) and send it recorded delivery. I usually keep a copy of this as well.
You should always keep a separate note of the buyer's name and address and verify it with a driving licence or some form of ID. |

may sound obvious, but don't give them the keys without you being in the car, if they are taking it for a test drive, get in the passenger seat first, then give them the key

Great advice guys! I would have not done it in any other way :-)
I also asked the guy to bring his driver's license and proof of insurance. Last edited by klaxhu; 01-24-2014 at 12:21 PM.. |

Car is now sold - it went for £5800 and I kind of regret even now that the guy managed to pursue me to knock down the £200 but ...in the end I did as I wanted it gone so I can get my beloved E61 :-)
Thanks all for the help and it was great owning a E90! |
