!!!Got rear ended!!! :(
Got rear ended by a van going around 5 mph. Bumper doesn't look too bad from far away, but could definitely see scratches, cracks, and dents close up... Honestly, I'm not too worried about the bumper since I want to the get m sport one. But hopefully there are no frame or body damage from the impact. Let me know if you see any bents to the body behind the bumper from the pictures:
Outside: you can see dents on the bumper ^ (kind of looks like a ripple) some small ripples ^ Inside: |

Forgot to mention that the trunk was not damaged at all, but I'm just really concerned if there could be any possible frame damage even though it is a low speed collision.

The metal bar behind the bumper could be damaged. Only way to know is to removed rear bumper ..
I took my car to a bodyshop for rree estimate and they removed and re installed rear bumper in 20 mins to give me proper quote. In my case the rear bar was pushed in enough so they have to changed it |

Odds are, the adjuster will inspect and pay for a new bumper and paint. An MSport would be a nice upgrade.

Just kidding! On a serious note, you shouldn't worry - their insurance is covering it as they hit you, correct? Get an estimate at a reputable shop, they'll remove the bumper and look. Hard to tell from pictures. Doubtful there is anything serious, enjoy your free new bumper!

This is definitely fine. Very doubtful of structural damage. Our bumpers are rated for 2.5 mph to with stand impact. Sure a van is bigger quite abit bigger but at 5 mph and the looks of that bumper I would say you’re in good shape other than maybe wanting to replace that bumper.

I got rear ended at probably 20 mph about 4 years back. Bumper and exhaust tip were replaced. Nothing structurally was damaged to the car.

Plus, I saw some photos of other cars getting rear ended (doesn't look too bad on the outside) with massive hidden damages and buckled trunk floors... |
