So I've decided to purchase an E92 330i with the N52 engine seeing as it's more reliable while still delivering nice power.

A few options I'm looking for is heated seats, idrive, power folding mirrors and steering wheel paddles which most seem to have but not many have the top hifi option, seeing as there isn't many N52 M sports available is it stupid for me to wait for one to go on sale that as the top hifi option or shall I just get the one with the rest of the options and upgrade the audio myself.

I'm also looking for Le mans blue or Mineral grey.

Edit: as a side note I already have top hifi tweeters that can be installed to my E92 if I chose to go with the base version the main thing I would be looking for.is adding more base.

Great choice it's what I bought ( after a 350bhp turbo hatch ) and it's a great drivers car ..are you sure you want paddles as the manual box adds to the experience somewhat. Also I'd be less worried about spec and concentrate on the right car condition wise ( even I drive is pretty datednow anyway )

Good choice, what's your budget?
Personally I wouldn't buy one without I drive, if your budget allows go for one with cic, my 35i had ccc & it was ok but the cic is a lot better, yes it's a bit out dated now but it's still a good bit of kit & I'm happy that I had cic retro fitted.
I can recommend going for an auto with paddles, I'd always had manual cars & always dismissed autos as 'not proper drivers cars ' & that was true in the old e series but the 6speed auto in the e9x with the paddles is very good, put a gearbox remap on it & it's great, well I think it is & I wouldn't go back to a manual.

As for colour....surely silver's gotta be the best colour for a e92

Yeah I think I'm going to stick with auto, never had an auto car and since majority of driving is done in traffic will make it easier on my left foot.

As for idrive I only want it so I can replace it with an android unit from KYCS or AliExpress, I've seen reviews etc they look great.

If you do a fair amount of traffic based driving might be worth at least taking a 30 0r 35 d out for a spin I think the extra torque would suit an autobox better ( as much as I love my n52 ) and they're far more plentiful than the 330i ( more likely to get the spec you want

I currently drive a 2011 E90 320D and I understand 330d would be have much more torque but I just hate dirty diesels and the sound they make now, so I need a petrol and I will most likely be looking for a performance backbox for it.

Depends what you want from your audio , base system is pants . I upgraded the base audio myself my .after looking at Bluetooth modules recoding the head unit to HiFi etc I decided to use a aftermarket mheadunit amps and speakers if and when I do move on there will be value In the audio kit also , it seems like you know what you want but I think you'd be be pretty lucky to find a car that ticks every box ( can happen mind )

I have base audio in my current E90 for me it's not the worst probably because I haven't been in a car with excellent audio, besides I think coding my HU to Hifi, adding tweeters, external amp and boot sub should do it for me.

If that would produce half decent sound I would be more than happy.

If you are used to a transit/320d, i can understand that, they are awful sounding things, but a 6 cylinder BMW diesel is an entirely different kettle of fish imho. Ive got a 335d and a 335i (having previously had a 320i, 325i, 330i & M3) and yes, the petrol is quieter on idle, but the derv isnt too bad - certainly sounds better than my old N53 325i did on idle

Re: Nav, i wouldnt worry too much about a lack of it, ive retrofitted CIC 3 times now for less than £600 all in. Would be less if you only want certain parts if fitting as dynavin etc. Stereo wise, ive got Logic 7 in the 335i and base in the 335d - the latter is awful, but fairly easy to upgrade
