N54 2E81 dme electrical coolant pump, speed deviation

Getting code on my car just randomly happenend. Car starts to get hot very quickly. Gives me the yellow temperature light then after the red saying overheating and car turns off. Assuming it’s the water pump but want to be sure. 105k miles 07 pretty sure water pump was never replaced. but is it normal to just randomly break one day with no proir signs. Does this sound lien a water pump issue.
Thanks

I'd let someone more knowledeable than me chime in first before ordering the part but I do think your water pump is failing.

Changing the coolant wont do anything imo it will drain out during the change.
