Really easy and straightforward. Did you get the replacement nuts?

The nuts are one time use. Not sure why since I haven't had a chance to replace mine yet, but I'm guessing they're distorted thread nuts so once they're used once they're nut really good for that use again.

I would just use some medium strength thread locker. Always worked on my e36 m3.

It would depend if they are torque to yield fasteners. I'm told those are normally marked with blue paint (but don't quote me).

Does the shop manual state that the nuts once tightened down require an extra 1/4 or 1/2 turn? This is a good indication that they're TTY. If you're just tightening them down to XXftlbs, they're most likely reusable.

Although, if they're cheap you'd be silly not to replace them.

I dont think theyre necessarily TTY, my assumption was that they are distorted thread nuts. Having not ever seen one in person Im not sure, but they are definitely locking nuts of some type and typically those are single use. In the grand scheme of things theyre pretty cheap, up to about $1.50 each.
