Yea they did...especially because I think 2011 had the value package option where leather was almost free...could have been chestnut leather.

Roll call, 2011 E91 6MT xDrive here at 135K miles. Certainly one of BMWs best run of the mill platforms, definitely not a secret on these forums

Considering the E91 photo thread and FS thread are still one of the most active threads on the forums is a testament to how good this car is.

As an older audio guy. I like the lower e91 load height for my gear. This car replaced my Honda Element that had larger payload space, but only half the payload weight rating of my e91.

Her name's Kestrel and she earns her keep! RWD

I own one of these "unicorns" and can attest at how worth the 16 month wait it most certainly was when I rescued her from a second rate used car dealership.

So versatile. So fun. 3 pedals always make me smile. Everything in this article is bang on.

Back in 2012 I was shopping for a 1 year old CPO E90 and kept my eye out for a 328i touring. But even 10 years ago and soon after E90/91 production ended in 2011, these were extremely difficult to find. Their production allocations for the US market were extremely low. Ended up with a 2011 E90 328i sedan, the next best thing.

That BMW is long gone—very sadly.
You are no longer their target customer. The world has changed and passed you by in the last 10+ years.

I had two E90s. Lovely, reliable, still small and well handling cars, hampered by too harsh suspension, tram-lining, and kinda weak on RFT tyres. Soft peel plastic is terrible, but it is all on cars of that era...

Personally having had one car without Idrive hump, I thought their interior in that trim was simply gorgeous, BMW had some proper stuff back then.
And not to mention the constant oil leaks and VANOS solenoid failures on those N52. The AC was kind of weak on those cars and having no iDrive meant no Bluetooth except for handsfree phone calls.

Great cars but looking back, too small, harsh riding and seemingly heavy hydraulic steering at parking lot speeds.

Don't miss the halogens or the 6-speed GM sourced automatic. The manual transmissions in these cars had notchy feel..

F30 electric steering sucked. G30 steering was marginally better, but not by much. I hear the G20 is improved but I’d certainly hope so because it couldn’t have gotten any worse than F30.

I’ll take seemingly-heavy parking-lot-speed hydraulic steering over lifeless electric steering any day!

That artificially heavy hydraulic steering on E chassis BMWs served no real purpose. There is a difference between heavy and tactile feel. Why have less assist at parking lot speeds?

For sure—fair point. I didn’t mean to associate weight with feel, but more just to say that I’m willing to put up with the heavy steering because it’s otherwise very nice.

Have you driven an E70 X5 by chance? I’m not sure if this was the case for all model years or if specific options mitigated this, but holy hell the steering weight on those is insane. Makes the E90 feel light .

I own both and can confirm, the E91 steering feel is much better than my F30. The E91, feels planted to the ground.

If this is the vehicle I'm thinking of, it is in amazing condition.. Saw this in person about 4 weeks ago while picking up a set of wheels from the owner. Great guy, garage set-up was absolutely jaw dropping lol. He took really care of this unicorn. Who ever ends up with it will not be disappointed.

The problem is it has made the prices on any enthusiast car go to insane levels. Now instead of being able to find a clean fun car for a decent price locally they post it online to get the max amount out of it. "I know what I got bro, just look at BaT".

Will be interesting to see where this one lands despite the accident history (even if minor). Have been looking for one for a long time. Remember the days when you couldn't give a station wagon away?
