Has anyone encounter a rumble like this? Still trying to figure out what's making this noise…

Update guys* Hope this helps someone. After taking the day to isolate the noise, It turns out it was the alternator make the grinding noise. The car had no code and when it was "tested" it tested good. Decide to bite the bullet and buy a new one anyway. Threw new one in and what do you you the noise is gone.

It seems to change with the rough idling, is it maybe causing the rough idling or is the rough idling causing the noise? This might be way off but have you changed spark plugs recently?

It doesn't seem to idle roughy, more then anything it's the noise that makes it sound like a rough idle. No fault codes with the scanner and it stops rattling once I start to drive. If I give it gas and get it it to just about 1000 rpm's the noise goes away. The car just got a lot a maintenance done. Plugs, belt & pulley, valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket and mounts.

There's your answer. Take it back to the shop who did the maintenance and ask them to identify and fix the noise (which wasn't there before their maintenance!).

Again this might sound strange but it could be worth checking that the spark plugs are tight. I had that happen to me once. Hope it helps you out
