does every 335i have air scoops?
I noticed my car has air scoops behind the kidneys - similar to something like the RAM air scoops (mine are black)
i have m-sport if that makes a difference anyways, i don't know if they came with the car or if the previous owner just left them on (stupid question, I know) thanks guys

No, that's a aftermarket part.

The scoops are suppose to increase a bit more air flowing into the snorkels and into the airbox.
I think the performance gains are negligible, and only at higher speeds.

Meanwhile, stock 335i has black plastic air scoops (and ducts) behind the lower meshes on the left and on the right. All cars have air ducts that lead from lower side-meshes to the front brakes (you can see the other end of the duct inside each of the front wheel wells). Also, Sport and M-Sport cars have an additional scoop+duct on the passenger side that leads to the oil cooler installed in front of the right-front wheel. Finally, Performance Package 2 cars have an additional scoop+duct on the driver side that leads to the additional water cooler. Last edited by AndreyT; 09-28-2012 at 02:10 PM.. |

^ air intake system is aftermarket. On another note, fix them bumper holes man... that's definitely an eyesore.

ik i was gonna buy those plugs, but you can't really see the holes unless you're up close so it's kind of a low priority

They don't improve performance for those that say they do. These are turbo cars, the air is getting sucked in no matter what. All they will do is maybe push cooler air to the DCI's at higher speeds.

You don't need any tools to remove the kidney grills.....it's held in by a bunch of clips, just pull hard on the grill and the should pop right out. Don't pull TOO hard though.....

The torx screws you're talking about, does it go to the front part of the snorkel? Like right above the kidney grills?
If not, that's different from the Pre-LCIs then....
