Thanks Vespa for providing the guide to everyone here.
Just sharing my experience but for those that said to use firefox to connect to the FTP it definitely helped me out. I was using the ENET cable method with IE and Chrome but none of the browsers would connect to the car. However, once I changed to Firefox and followed Vespa's directions everything worked out flawlessly Thanks again! |

Tried so much, but can't get this to work on Windows XP..
Edit: With Windows 10 I can make a connection to ftp://169.254.199.99 but when entered: username: root pass: "Hm83stN)" or "cic0803" I always get pass not correct.. I'm stuck ! Last edited by Ibo24; 02-03-2017 at 02:46 PM.. |

just extract the one file titled: "fsc.exe" from that rar and place it in whatever directory you have your "a.hex" file in. Super simple. |

You might want to change your WIRED connection, not your wireless. Unless I'm missing something here.

PM me a link to the unedited 1b you got from the car. I'll see what I can do.

Ok, so my generalPersistencyData_DiagnosticSWTController file doesn't have my VIN or 01 01 00 1B hex anywhere. It's 8k, got it just fine from the car. I used Chrome on OSX if that matters. I do see bmwgroup all over the file though.
Any ideas? Thanks! |

Awesome!! I made my own ENET cable and managed to generate the CIC FSC code based on information on this forum. I have a S606 Navigation System Business (MOTION). Can someone please confirm that the code output, "MAP FSC for ???: WGX7OZWX766DUACOAD7Q" is good to go and that it will work for BMW ROAD MAP AUSTRALIA NEW ZEALAND MOTION 2015 (or any year?). Thank you again.

Thanks for posting this thread, however I am having some problems getting this to work on my car.
I own a Z4 E89 23i which was manufactured in 2009. It came factory fitted with the CIC navigation (2009 PREMIUM maps). The original owner later upgraded to the "2012 PREMIUM" maps by the dealer. I believe that this owner also required to get the iDrive firmware upgraded at the same time. The maps are currently reporting "Road Map Europe PREMIUM 2012". A few months ago, before reading this thread, I bought a "BMW INPA EDIABAS K+DCAN D-CAN OBD2 OBDII USB Interface Diagnostic Tool Cable" cable from eBay but couldn't manage to connect to my car, so I gave up. Last week, after reading this post, I bought a "OBD2 Ethernet" cable. I then did the following:
I downloaded tftp32 but I am not quite clear on how to use it properly or 'start' it. Before I go any further, I'd like to understand the following:
Any help would be appreciated. |

If you're getting a link light on your ethernet port, then your car is definitely wired for it. I had a hell of a time getting my personal laptop to connect, I had to actually use my work laptop, lol.
Try a different machine if you can, I know not the best answer but it worked for me.
