Just bought a 100K miles E92 335i, what services do I need ?

Hello !
I just bought my first BMW E92 335i
it has 107K miles on the counter,
my question: what do I need to do to get it ready to drive it another 100,000 miles ?
I'm thinking:
-changing the transmission fluid
-replace the bushings ?
-replace struts ?

service records

Skip the bushings. Skip the struts.

Transmission, power steering, coolant, engine oil, brake, differential fluid changes.

Clean your intake valves and intercooler.

Replace air conditioning filter.

Alignment.

Spark plugs.

Make sure tire pressure is good and wear is good.

Run a fuel system cleaner just for peace of mind.

Replace your engine air intake filter/replace with aftermarket.

Replace valve cover gasket, oil filter housing gasket, PCV vanos solenoid with upgraded Rob unit.

-As for mods I'd recommend starting with just a BMS JB4 tuner and set it to the auto-tune map 5. It's easy, safe, can reverse it and will make the car more responsive and much more powerful.

Beyond that you're getting into cosmetic mods and deeper water with power mods that I wouldn't recommend until you're very familiar with how the car drives and looks.

Bad advice. Only follow this if you'd like to end up paying 2-3x as much as you would doing preventative maintenance; and possibly much more.

Some might say its a little late to change transmission fluid, but just think of the cost of the fluid change vs the entire tranny.

Service records will show you what was done so you don't throw money away.

Do not go overboard as some people say replace a whole bunch of stuff as it is not really needed, unless you have loads of extra cash laying around.

fuel lines!?

Some of the posts on this thread are pretty hilarious. I'm coming up on 100k and you guys are making it seem like this guys car is plagued from a non-caring owner.

Thats a gutsy buy! Do preventative maintenance with fluid changes and find out if thermostat and water pump have been changed, those are the two major things that will be going out soon if they havent been replaced yet. Also probably time for new plugs.

replace your oil pan gasket, thermostat, and water pump, all in one go. Relace all your vacuum lines with high quality silicone, especially the one behind the oil filter housing. Good Luck.

id rather buy a used GTI instead of a very-used 100k-mile BMW.

I don't see the point in replacing water pump and thermostat before they go. Get yourself AAA and replace it when you need to.

I have a hard time understanding why people make it seem like buying a 335 with high mileage is such a bad idea. I'm sure he got a good price on it, and just like ANY other car, you will have maintenance that needs ot be done with buying a higher mileage car, just with a 335 the maintenance will be more expensive.

But he does some basic maintenance that needs to be done, he is just as safe as any other 335 driver out there right? Of course, like others have said, service records are a must.

If nothing is mechanically wrong and your up to date on your services, I would make sure you have a good tow service, and keep a few grand aside just incase something happens.

Yeah I men as long as everything is up to date (meaning the previous owner (s) took care of it) then I think the worst that will happen is you have to drop a couple grand if something or somethings do break.

welcome!
not too long ago I purchased a new 335i coupe with a manual transmission, everything is great and is working. I would recommend just doing whatever service is needed.

my dad once told me "if it doesn't need a fixing don't fix it"

I love mine so far and I'm sure you will too! where do you live by the way? that could tell a lot about the car.

Congrats.
