Will this work?
So I’ve come across this thread: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1238288
I’ll be running the exact same setup except on my E93 but I wanted to know if I could bump up the sidewall to 40 instead of 35 on all 4 and still be good with fitment? |

Hmmm you could I suppose. I think they would look a little balloony though. If you went with 245/40s that would be like an in-between step. Compared to a 255/40

Here’s a thought - I see a good amount of people running 40 up front and 35 in the back.
225/40/18 255/35/18 I’m sure this works but would it fit well? |

Reason to run a 225/235 in a 40 series instead of 35 is because as the tire gets wider the sidewall gets taller.
a 235/40 is .4" taller than a 255/35. If you went with a 235/35 the front tire would be .5" less tall than the rear. Personally I like the look of the square setup in the link you posted. Since you don't have an Xdrive its really up to you. Use this calculator to compare sizes. https://tiresize.com/calculator/ Better yet run a 235/40 front with a 265/35 rear. Only .1" difference in diameters. Very common setup on these cars. Should look nice too with 8" & 9.5" wheels. |
