well Lups...
You accidentally got to the heart of my wealth hypocrisy: keeping my wife's rambling 1840 Georgian farmhouse and walled acre livable would be impossible without financial independence. In a socialist utopia it would be leveled or each room would have a family in it like in post-revolutionary Russia.

My project house has been in its current location since 20's and I absolutely love the feeling it has. It screams it needs a loving hand. It looks like shit, the yard is a jungle, the insides are a mix of ruination and horror flicks. I lost my dog a bit more than a week ago and I'm a bit lost. I need manual labor to get out of this cycle of grief and hard feelings. Renovating shit works, but it's even more fun to picture a project like that while using Lemmie's wallet. I probably would be very, very drunk while putting on tiles I stole from an other house 15 years ago in. Sorry for fucking with your thread. As you've pointed out multiple times before too, this will happen again.

Actually no, do not dislike everything about him and his presidency. However, here is too much going on and too much chaos for me and this past week was just so awful that I now truly fear for the country.

I think his policies include a ton of things that when done correctly would be really good. Sadly, BS River drowns them all.

not my thread...
Not my thread Lups, but as an unreconstructed New Left leftover I'm not quick to condemn the acts of madness that wealth enables. On the grandest scale it can lead to Bill Gates' notion of doing what governments can't or won't do - think Carnegie libraries or combating HIV - and on the smallest scale it contributes to diversity in numerous anonymous ways. What is most to be avoided is pure statism or even a frictionless capitalism in which we would all be bored to death. While I would rarely admit it here I despise the bloodless and clumsy statism of Obama/Clinton/Schumer/Pelosi nearly as much as I do the small government right.

Ugh, don't we all know it!
I got a call just now. " Mom, we got lost in the woods. No biggie, we are going to do this right. Hell no, no search party, we are so big no bear could eat us both, we'll be home when we can." I really want to go look for them, but then again, problem solving is good for young minds. At some point the dog will get hungry and will lead them home, right?

That's why the center is where you can find real change happening. All else gets fought off.

They found their way back home. Pretty impressive for kids so young with no GPS.
