Fog lights

Hey guys I have a 2011 335i xdrive e90, I have already change my ae with led but have not change my fog lights. From what I know they are h8 halogen bulbs, what replacements due you guys recommend for white light or white led that won't throw a code.

Go with HPB HID kit. Make sure you can get CANBUS kit so it won't throw codes.

Led in the fogs look great but they are not strong enough to illuminate the road. Other drivers will see you but you will not gain any visibility. If you want the best visibility and looks go with 6k Hid Kit.

I feel that HID kits are too bright and you will just piss everyone off because you're blinding them at night.

Don't get me wrong, I'm tempted with HID kits as well but I don't want to be 'THAT' guy. I guess what you can try doing with the HID kit is trying to retrofit it so you don't blind everyone else.

Good Luck OP

I don't think that will be the case since the fogs sit so low they don't aim up and get in peoples eyes.

My wife has an E70 X5 and I did an LED Upgrade but not the standard bulbs. They are as bright as the OEM HIDs and install was very easy. No error issues either. I found them via a friend that put them in his E46 initially. He had them and I asked about them. He put a review up somewhere on E46fanatics. I'll see if I can find the thread.

The problem in my opinion of HIDs in the fogs is the new cars have adaptive headlights/lighting. When you turn right the right fog comes on... and HID will be turned off and on over and over. It never illuminates to full brightness and it cycles the lights too much.

*edit*

Facebooked messaged him and got the link.

Depending on what you use the fogs for. Do you just wanna show it off and use it all the time then get the LED but if you want to use it if needed and brighten up the road then get HIDs.

I was actually looking at LED but they only look nice and bright but, it doesnt light up the road very well.

Since I drive backroads with farm area I have HID fogs.

DDM Tuning!!! $29ish for a HID kit that lasts for years...at least mine have! You would just need to code the errors out.

My fogs are brighter than the factory/OEM HIDs. The cheap "LED Bulbs" that are 10-20 dollars I'd agree but they are much better options. HID in the fogs doesn't work properly on the new BMWs in my opinion with the adaptive lighting turning them off/on.

Did you just change the bulbs or the bulb and installed a hid kit?

You mentioned that you bought them on-line. Would you mind sharing the link?
