License plate LEDs

Hey all. I installed LED lights for my license plates and they work fine. But I'm getting the exterior light system malfunction. Any ideas?

My cheap eBay license plate LED's work perfectly and don't throw a code. $15 shipped.

Here's the weird thing also. I could only get a hold of one at a time. So there was a time when I had one stock and one led and it never threw a code. But it was only after I had both in that it threw a code.

Daaamn these look exactly the same as the ones I bought off a member here for 40$.

Im on the second set of these in the last 8 years! First set some of the LEDS started to die off. Someone told me ones side is brighter than the other. Im on my second set and its been 3-4 years and great.

First set I bought for 30 then 20 bucks. RDASH lights. Looks exactly like the link!
