After looking at many E90 M3 donors, some were bad, some were overpriced, lots of bullshit... I just decided to go N54xi (over N55 too) because of the power potential. It will be disappointing to many of you, a bit disappointed myself but it was either this or keeping the N52. But I'm going to keep it real, fuck the N52. I should have done this from the beginning but I wanted to keep faith in the Supercharger kit that just did not work out for me. I did notice that they did work for other members and that's great but it is what it is. To be fair, I also gave up because I was too focused on other projects.

Full bolt-ons have been ordered. I'm making a decision on what to do with the Turbo(s). We are moving along.

Nothing but smart business, imo! I think the power characteristics of the turbo six motors are better-suited to the heavy wagon. It'll be exactly what your N52 couldn't do. Happy for ya! Also, N54 seems much easier to swap vs N55, from the threads I read. Going to be a beastly wagon!

And yeah, I've been watching M3 auctions, too. So much overpriced garbage on there. I have no idea how people are making money on them after labor for such high mileage crap. Maybe I'm missing something?

I think the N54 is a smarter move, even though you lose the purist aspect of the build.

If I don't sell my E91 N54 build, maybe I'll dump the wtcc kit and go full oem M3 body.

Seriously these people are out of their minds. It almost seems like the non-rebuildable cars have worse value-to-price than the ones that can be saved. I'm just happy the N52 is leaving. Good riddance. I've never had an N54 personally, lets see what happens. A lot of 335i guys used to talk a lot of smack when I had an E92M3. I'm very happy I can get torque, this sonbitch wagon is indeed heavy. Thanks man!

Yup, I've been trying to keep everything M3 specific and OEM+. It hurts a bit. I haven't seen an update from you in quite a while! Post baby! Hope all is well.

This was going to be the "donor" originally, as you can see... not a donor anymore lol. Beautiful day yesterday.

Interior is being put away. So much space in here. Part of me wants to do some Recaro seats.

Recaros in the wagon are actually more comfy than stock sport seats! Just calibrate expectations. Your partner may hate you for them if they aren't a driving enthusiast. And, a bit of practice for ingress and egress will go a long way mitigating the dreaded spastic, sweaty transition in and out of the car. Steering wheel QRs are popular, but I just slide the seat back, lift up, and pivot out. Enjoying your progress.

Any updates on this? If the N54 came from an xdrive model, does that mean you swapped over everything including the xdrive?

Was asking to see if it was a respray.
The color does not look like interlagos.

Ohhh my bad I just assumed it was the lighting that added that purplish tone

Paint has not been buffed yet. Just freshly mounted. Bumper needs to be adjust. Everything else is spot on as expected. Even OEM parts some times fit funny.

I want to retrofit the m3 front bumper to my e90 328i as well, fenders and headlights. Also, did you used the bugermotorsport shifter harness? I want to upgrade the steering wheel with shifter too
