Coolant hose popped off, where to go from here?

Hello, after a freeway drive I noticed steam coming from the engine bay and that’s when I noticed this hose that looks like it’s popped off or just destroyed at the end completely, along with a low coolant level light on the dashboard, I attached images and was wondering where to go from here? Is it just a new hose that ill need and is that an easy job to do myself?

It's a common way the hoses can fail. In my opinion the coolant system is one of the biggest weaknesses. It's not a matter of "IF" but "When" the hoses will fail.

The hoses are super easy to replace with the sliding metal lock. The only hard part is if you yourself can reach both ends of the hose, or does the car need to be lifted up to remove the belly pan and reach the other end (I forget for this hose).

It might be a good time to look at the condition of the other hoses, consider a coolant flush etc...

oh wait this might be the mickey mouse flange.... Search for Mickey Mouse flange and that's a must do repair. Cheap and easy as well. But yes a new hose is needed.

I don't think this is the hose with the Mickey Mouse flange. MM hose goes from the head to the water pump. The one in OPs picture is the hose from the OFH to the heater lines.

Still should probably look into replacing it pre-emptively if your coolant hoses are deteriorating

Thanks I wasn't sure. I had to replace the flange.

OP Replace the Mickey Mouse Flange while you have the coolant system opened up. It's a plastic bit that "WILL" fail replace with a metal flange.

It's the hose from the top of the radiator to the Oil Filter Housing. It looks like the plastic connector is starting to degrade and fail, causing to hose to separate from the plastic. The plastic at the end of the connector underneath where the hose connects to is light brown. That discoloration is sign the plastic is degraded.

Based on the age of the cooling system you should evaluate all the hoses. They all may be near end-of-life and need replacement. A quick fix would be to remove the engine intake air duct. Move the hose completely from the connector. Remove the band clamp, reattach the hose to the connector on the oil filter housing and use a worm-style hose clamp until you can evaluate and service the cooling system.

Can you provide details on your car. Age, model, when you acquired the car, mileage, and maintenance history?
