Reset Adaptions for transfer case/diff fluid change

Hi, I have searched all over and can not seem to find a definitive answer on weather or not a reset has to be done when changing fluid on the ATC300 Transfer case and Diffs on a 328XI E90. I have found half say yes and half say no. Has anyone actually done the reset? If so what can I use to do it? I was going to purchase the BT tool anyway but I read there is no capability to reset it with this. Any info will be greatly appreciated

I don't think reset must be done but check in instruction manual at newtis.info

If you have ista or Bimmergeeks protool you can do an oil reset and then the transfer case calibration. It will not hurt anything (unlike resetting adaptations on the transmission)

I've done it on 2 different units after changing the oil. Car drives perfect

If you want a fresh 'learn' then it won't hurt anything but it's certainly not necessary.

I also read somewhere that early model E90s i.e. 2006 don't require oil wear reset on the transfer case, but then again all e90s use the ATC300. It's an option in ISTA+, I would totally do it just to be safe.

Why would you do both the oil reset and transfercase calibration? I would think the transfer case calibration is for when you replace/remove the motor or whole transfercase.
