Hey, was wondering how your B14 are holding up? I am researching and probably the most important thing I am loking for is reliability. Who would win between the B12, B14, Koni sport, or ST X systems? thanks!!!

I have the Bilstein B12 kit, but have not installed it yet. I was also debating over the B14, but ended up going with the B12 so i don't have to mess with the ride height so much. I also heard Eibach springs are pretty comfortable. I been using H&R springs for most of my cars, but i wanted to change things around.

Completely different shock. They redesigned them a little over a year ago.

i had pss9 on my e46 330ci and didnt really like how stiff they were at low speeds. At Hwy speeds they handled great. I was wondering if the B14 kit for a E92 would be similar to the pss9 for a e46 ?

Both cars have the same B14 w/ M3 front control arms. There is more room on the coilover to drop the car even lower.

Just got my B14's installed and I am blown away by the ride quality. It really feels like an OEM+ setup in terms of comfort, but totally transformed the handling characteristics of the car. I had the shop raise the ride height a bit from the Bilstein preset so it's sitting about .75" lower than the stock suspension.
I also installed new mounting hardware, sway bar end links, and Dinan rear upper shock mounts. The car also has the TRW M3 front control arms and Meyle HD tie-rods. I might do the M3 strut tower, E93 FSB, and M3 rear control arms to finish off the suspension. Also, the newer Bilstein B14's are yellow all around.

Had 2 sets personally and my brother has HD's on now. Same symptoms after awhile. Most members on here probably have smoother roads. Koni actives have been problem free so far. The ride quality is good but a little weird. Last edited by gunnerxq; 12-07-2020 at 07:32 AM.. |
