F30 Performance brakes in E92 335i

Can you ask what tire size they are running? I like that wheel style and want to make sure it won't rub on the fenders before I purchase a set.

I completed this conversion a few months back, but had the car on the lift for a while doing other projects. Now I'm driving it again and on both rear rotors, I'm getting the same incomplete pad distribution (see photo).

I took the rotors off this weekend and pulled the pads to re-lube and reseat everything, but no change. The pads are OEM and came with the used calipers with lots of material left. They don't appear to have obvious uneven wear, but perhaps they do. I'm using offset bushings on the calipers. Before I experiment with new pads, I wanted to make sure there isn't a different obvious thing I'm doing wrong or haven't checked. Hoping you guys can help.

Incidentally, based on the lack of rust on the back of the rotor. The pad seemed to be sweeping it cleanly.

Likely not the case, but offset bushings pressed in to where you get all closer to the hub (perpendicular/normal to center)? If good there then drive it and wear off rust. I did it manually but have full pad sweep. Good luck!

I thought about that, but the bushings are definitely pressed all the way in. The rotors appear to be centered in the caliper. I’ve put a few hundred miles on the brakes and the rust is still there. Strange. I’ll drive it some more and see if it balances out. May try swapping out the pads with a new set of it doesn’t get better.

Incidentally, the car stops incredibly well, so doesn’t seem to be a performance hit.

Don't see why it wouldn't in that you'd need to do the same things you would do to make it fit an f30

the F33 can mount the 345 rear disc, how does the 370 fit in if the caliper is identical for the two models?
will it have a different wheel hub? do you need a spacer for the caliper?

In this solution You need just brackets no eccentric bushings are needed.

Are you sure that ALL rear F30/F80 (2 piston) calipers are the same? I read somewhere the one type has 40mm pistons and the other 44mm pistons. Also quick look into OEM catalogue indicates 2 numbers (34218046261 and 34216799461). So where are the differences here?

You buy a conversion kit, from some of our friends here... got it from a guy in Europe and just waiting to wear out my current 345/370 discs... but yes can be done, and my next discs are the F80 M4 370/380 ones.

they are so simmilar that i never noticed a difference

adapters are same for both.

yep...I guess that the body of caliper has very similar dimensions...that is why instalation sets-adapters/inserts fit to the both of them; the difference is in size of pistons and also in size of the brake pads...those for M4/F80 seem to be bigger

You will wait a while. Those are tough. I went to 6, yes 6 front and 4 rear pads before I had to replace the rotors. 380/370 is over kill on e90 even for a track....
