Wildcat:

The CAN leads from the emulator are well twisted but I'm using a quadlock harness and those wires are not twisted. I noticed that one poster went to the trouble to twist those as well. Maybe worth a try.

Could be a bad emulator module but I have no practical way to test it. Oh well, not the first $100 tossed down the E90 rabbit hole.

Once you modify the TRC file save as a .MAN, go back to NCS, change job to SG_CODIERN and click execute job.

So the wire colors and pin you are using for the RCA doesnt match the wiring diagram.

Did your camera function normally using the pins you used? Confused as to which ones i should use...

Another approach

If camera is really an option with European models, has anyone tried to locate a source of plug and play cameras from Europe? Then it should only be a matter of coding.
I am actively searching. If anyone comes up with something, please let's us know.

Once you hit F4, select CIC. At that point you modify the TRC file then save as the MAN. Once you go back to NCS, change job to SG_CODIERN then execute.

The wiring diagram pdf and n8s's picture posted earlier shows the wires going to 5 & 8 on this plug (21 & 24 on the whole harness numbering system). Until I see more consistent way to wire this up, I dont have the confidence to attack it.

Here is n8s's pic of what i'm talking about:

Sorry only just seen this reply. I used the additional wiring harness so you can ignore the colours of the wires that I removed and replaced with the 2 RCA pins. I used the same pin locations as the instructions though, although it's not particularly clear in the picture I posted.

does anyone have a video of this running on CCC? Looks like a fun mod, but if the camera/operation sucks then I don't really want to mess with it...

Thanks for getting back to me!

It looks like you used one of the connections in the upper corner, according to your pics. The directions and the wiring diagram don't show that one being used for the camera. I guess that's where i'm really confused.

Hey, no worries! OK so I think I can see the confusion. As I'm in Europe, I'm using pins 18 and 28, instead of 21 and 24, which are used in the US. If you look at the wiring diagram by Grzes, and look at pin 28, you will see this is the bottom corner. As I am using the additional harness, which is a mirror image of the pins, that's why it looks like I'm using the top left pin. When connected, it actually connects to the bottom right pin. The picture I posted showing the RCA connected into that part of the wiring harness, should really have the wiring turned over, then you would see that the apparent top left pin I'm using is actually the bottom right.
I hope that makes sense, it does in my head, but sometimes it's tricky explaining clearly online! Hopefully that helps and gives you the confidence to go for it, it's definitely worth it

Also would like to know if this works with CCC. Do you still need an emulator? I have TV analogue and PDC on my E90.

good deal, thanks for explaining this. I'm also using the additional harness, I wouldnt do this mod if it involved cutting wires.
