Another good sounding album is Alt-J - An Awesome Wave. Again, superb production and great mix of instruments, vocals and electronica. Bass slams on that record. Some other individual tracks which sound really good are: Calyx & Teebee - Heroes & Villains (hard hitting bass - crazy track) Protoculture - Cobalt (pure euphoria - goosebump tune) Emile Sande - Our Version of Events (great test of imaging) Appreciate I've named a few there. All of them are on Spotify I think (except the Sasha mix). Something I've noticed makes a real difference on a decent system like this (or any half-decent hifi) is lossless encoded tracks, or at the very least high-bitrate MP3s (320kbps). Storage is cheap, so it's wel worth ripping at the highest quality. Another Spotify tip for anyone using via their phone (or desktop actually), is to make sure you enable high quality streaming in the options. Makes a difference! |

Perhaps someone could start a separate thread 5 tracks that you really should listen to. I'm new to the forum so will see if someone else wants to kick it off. Last edited by Steed; 05-09-2013 at 03:50 PM.. Reason: duplication |

There is a Gladen kit in classified with mosconi amp. Worth of sending him a decent offer.

My saying is, do it properly or don't. Start saving and do a decent upgrade.

Not everyone has that amount of disposable income or the inclination to spend so much on something as minor as a car stereo. That's why manufacturers sell in every price range so people like me can get beter than stock even if they can't afford top of the range.

I'd suggest buying second hand then. You should get a better quality amp for the same price as a new one. Look on the classifieds on here and talkaudio .co.uk
By the way, im installing the new Gladen 201 kit now, but it will have a helix p-dsp and a litebox amp |

Please note: Replacing the original speakers wires is necessary due to the increased impedance |

I've just fitted the Gladen speakers and a Gladen amp (one of the cheaper amps I must admit) and for the money so far I'm not that impressed. Are you guys just powering the front doors and the subs or the rear speakers too? I used the Gladen quad lock wiring kit too. I also have somewhat of an annoying background 'hum' that I'm in the process of trying to locate. Any theirs have this issue, and if so how did you sort it?

I was thinking it was more of a hum caused by the electrics in the car?!?

I felt the same way when my system was installed (all speakers replaced, fully amped & front dsp) & all I can say is stick with it, you'll find it gets better & better as the speakers loosen up, which I believe takes 40 hrs plus, so run it for a few weeks & then see how you feel.
