Idrive updates?

Hiya,

I'm from the uk.... And have just bought a 2006 BMW 320d m sport touring with the Idrive. Now it came with the professional road map DVD.... But is there any way of telling if my Idrive system is up to date? And is running the latest software?

Sorry only had the car less than a week so am still learning about all these techie things

Only the dealer can tell you. If you take them the master key and have them read the data off of it, it will tell you what the vehicle software level is. Should read something like E089-06-09-520. Vehicle software level and dvd map version are two different things. The dvd map disc version only affect how currently the road maps are, nothing to do with the operation of the i-drive. Unfortunately the dealer won't just program your vehicle to the latest level unless you have a complaint and updating the software will fix it. Hope that helps a bit.
