Alfa Romeo 4C

Guys,

This car is just beautiful..

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/news/de...?storyId=27103

What do you chaps think of it?

I think that throwing out an Elise format car but with almost twice the power to weight ratio (A projected 240bhp approx from a 950 kilo car) could well lead to something simply stunning.

Unfortunately however the price has bloated tremendously. This car was initially going to be mid to high 30s. It now looks to be almost 50. Bad times.

I'd definitely take one at 18 months old when the usual Alfa depreciation hits though and the car is only worth mid 20s. What an achingly beautiful car..

To me, the front looks very VX220 and the back looks a lot like an Elise.

It reminds me of something and I can't quite pinpoint what. This will bug me all day!

However, the power to weight ratio looks interesting.

A squashed Ferrari 430/360 even an ENZO??

I would take the Lotus Exige ahead of the Alfa. It's a good looking car but £50K

I agree that they've got the price point wrong It's a real shame. It's a nicer looking car than the Cayman S but a whole lot slower. Not worth it I imagine.

It's soo so sexy though

It reminds me of the Lancia Stratos.

It ticks all the boxes (apart from price)! but it just reminds me of this

I just think it's too small and if you are going to pay 50k for it, why not just pay a bit more and get the 8c which is ... wow. Aren't they both limited production too

Lovely looking car.

I dont think you will see the depreciation you are looking for.

An Alfa 8C was £100, 000 4 years ago. The cheapest one on Autotrader is currently £115, 000.

Looks too much like and Exige or smaller Evora. In that respect, a total fail for me as I hate the way those Lotus's look, no matter how good they may be.

I'm with MEGA on this one, I think it looks stunning and with less than 1000kg's and 240bhp it's going to be very quick, however it has 3 problems

1) It's too expensive, £50K is way too much for this car. Partly caused by it's carbon tub but to be honest they could have dropped this and the car would have still been light enough but less expensive.

2) It's using the Giuletta engine which is pretty decent but just too damn quiet, they better do something about the noise.

3) Alfa aren't known for there build quality, even the expensive 8C wasn't brilliant.

However as stated by Mega, hopefully it will depreciate in the usual Alfa style although this might be forstalled somewhat by limited numbers if they decide to go that route.

A stunning looking car but as already said many times, the price point is all wrong.

A German or Jap company (or maybe just BMW) needs to poach Alfas designers so we can have a well built, reliable, great handling car that looks amazing. BMWs and Audis aren't ugly but they look like weird robotic cousins.
