CIC retrofit coding help!

2008 e92
build date - 02/2008
My car was built with BMW Professional Radio - No idrive. I recently retrofit CiC and have the following issues. I believe most of it is coding related.
1. SOS Call malfunction error - Bluetooth is working fine. No issues with Navigation either.
2. No HD Radio, VIM - My CiC is an euro unit recoded to USA by the seller from Lithuania. Seller also claims that Video in Motion in activated but when I insert a DVD I get unrecognized media error.
3. I can't set the vehicle speed alert. For some reasons CiC is not getting vehicle speed info. The trip information seems to be correct thought. Not a big deal but I like to know why.

Can someone help me with coding the car?

I believe VO needs to be changed to add CiC and CiC needs to be configured then. Thanks!!

What's your current VO list now? Can you make a dump?

1. SOS Malfunction - BMW Assist with your Ulf Module. You need to remove this Option from VO and Encode NFRM/FRM.
2. Coding to your car's modified VO should solve this.
3. Coding to your car's modified VO should solve this.

If it's anything like NBT, Euro CIC won't have the proper hardware to decode US HD radio (IBOC) or SiriusXM (SDARS).

Add 609 to your VO, write it to you NFRM and CAS modules. Then recode CIC and Kombi Modules.

Thanks guys..

I modified the VO and did FA_WRITE on CAS, NFRM modules. Then I did a sg_codierung on CIC and Kombi modules. I still have the SOS error.
I also tried to change TCM_ID_MONITOR and TCM_ALIVE_MONITOR in Kombi from aktiv to nicht_aktiv but it didn't help.

Do I need to code the TCUM module as well?

When I change the VO to #0909, do I need to code the car or just do FA_WRITE?

I added $609 to VO...do I also need to add $6VA? What is the code to be removed from FA? I mean the BMW Professional radio code...

So with non idrive to idrive retrofit I can't have HD radio? I see the HD radio option in the Radio settings but just can't select it. It's active (not grayed out) but when I click it goes back to the previous screen.

I have the TCU and I connected my GPS antenna to it by using an adapter (Followed Booster's DIY pdf )

Coding my car - Do you mean modify the VO ( #0909, $609 and $6va) FA_WRITE to CAS and FRM/NFRM modules? I see that some experts suggest not to FA_WRITE or code the car... just change it so CIC will show up in the modules and do sg_codierung to CIC and KOMBI modules..

I mentioned the TCU as this is what the SOS error is entangled with. Your previous radio was removed so this renders the BMW Assist functions useless.

Exactly add/ delete or change a few options. Not sure of the reason not to FA_Write but can be done either way. The part of coding the car is correct however.
Use your expert mode to do these changes.

Post your VO lets see how we can help.

Use job "SG_CODIEREN" on CIC and KOMBI Modules only.

I was able to fix SOS by coding it right. My steering wheel controls stopped working. It worked initially but stopped working after couple of days. I didn't do any coding in between. So it's purely a mechanical fault.

Dealer says it has something to do with my retrofitted CIC (they called it as CCC). Stealership quote to fix it is $3400!!!! Holy moly!!
why would steering wheel controls stop working? Did I do something when I reinstalled the steering wheel?

Guys anyone?
I have another issue with the retrofit. My steering wheel buttons stopped working and we replaced the SEL and buttons and had the dealer program it. Dealership used irap session to program it. However now the tech says that voice control button cannot be programmed because of the CiC retrofit. The voice control button was working just fine after the retrofit.

Why can't the dealer program the all other buttons but the voice control? I am at a loss.. can someone help?

PS: When the I say the voice control button is not working, I press the button and nothing happens. All other buttons are working fine (vol up/down, up/down, phone, media control, a/c circulation etc)

Dealer can ONLY program the car with options that the car came with...Since your car was equipped with CCC unit they can no longer program your car until you install the CCC unit back in. Can it be possible your headunit FSC code for the voice control is not activated?

My car was built with BT and voice control and it was working before the dealer replaced the SEL (clock spring) and steering wheel buttons. When I press the button the system was asking for the command even though it couldn't read my command input.

Now when I press the button nothing happens.

I was able to activate voice control by adding $620 to my VO. I coded CIC, Kombi and TCUM modules after that. Everything seems to be working now. Thanks guys!
I just have one soft code error under CCC/Mask .... I believe it is related to BMW Assist. I haven't figured out a way to fix it yet.

Glad you got it going!

That CCC/MAsk error maybe due to your connections of the retrofit.. I have it too. lol I haven't been able to track what exactly it is but you should be fine.

Thanks man! I am sure it has something to do with BMW Assist. I tried changing TCM_ID_MONITOR and TCM_ALIVE_MONITOR in Kombi from aktiv to nicht_aktiv but that didn't help.

bumping this thread because its the only one I've seen mentioning the speed limit warning issue.

I did a retrofit and everything else seems solid except for this. I'm thinking I need to code something in some module that give this into to the CIC? I don't see any CIC specific codes that seem related.

Thoughts?
