Looks like there is an even newer platform in the works that might be a better buy.

yeah. I read a little about this one too. Don't think it will run android. People in the e46fanatics forum are complaining that dynavin is making new models instead of updating software. Looks to be true.

If it can read the trip computer data .

I wonder if it emulates the OEM head unit enough to avoid the BMW programming problem and the other little errors such as SOS dissconnect.
Then if it had actual low level pre out for aftermarket amps that would
be the icing on the cake.

Also, you can cheaply buy a "Data Only" sim card (in UK anyhow) for around $30 (link)
It hasnt even shipped yet so I could cancel it I guess but I know my phone will be updated and I am not sure of this unit plus to get enough data for nav to be usefull (android doesnt have built in maps, at least phones dont) it would cost to much every month. I am happy with my decision now that I ordered it.

I have Copilot off-internet nav software on my tablet that just uses the GPS and has the maps saved on the unit itself. So if you are worried about that, i dont think you should be. I think i paid $5 for the software through the android marketplace.

From what i heard, the D99 isnt even close to production yet and initially will not have android.

As a D90 (V5) owner, if it were me looking to buy one of these units again, I'd wait for the D99 without a doubt.

The D95 (V6) really only improves upon the iPod player which is pretty broken in the V5 and below. It still suffers from the mediocre menu and controls system. It's still a pain to try to navigate to something on an SD card.

With or without Android, a V5 or V6 is going to be the same on the radio side and have the "same" issues. Most people do very little on the Navigation side. The WinCE models can be skinned and can have other music players installed (although the process isn't as easy as the Android models) but they always fall short IMO because they don't respond with the steering wheel controls. You MUST use the Radio side to have steering wheel controls and such.

The downside to choosing the Android side is that you have to find "offline" maps for the navigation. Not sure how much of a hassle that is.

Its still on but shipping is into the us only. I can ask for into canada. Also, they can do manual controls but it will take a little longer than the auto controls. Let me know if you are in.

Also, for those that are in, Trent would like a deposit. Please PM me your email addresses for those who want in and Trent will contact you.

Alright guys. Trent has started to put the wheels in motion on this group buy. I have begun to send email addresses of those who want the units. We have two committed people at this time. We need three more. I personally have spent my money on a CF hood and committed the rest to headers so I will have to postpone my purchase but I will continue to monitor and send the info of the interested parties to Trent @ caraudiocraze.

hey...do you want shipping to India? Just pm me your email and I will get trent to contact you.

On a side note, those waiting for the d99 system I saw a retailer confirm that price range would be in the $1000+ region for those units so expect to pay more.

These are some of the first units for dynavin android e9X units. They have been running on the e46 for quite some time now.

The D99 unit has updated graphics, a different interface, parrot bluetooth technology and a better radio system. There are other upgrades I'm sure but those are some off the top of my head. It looks nice but it is super pricey.

The market for these units seem to be a lot stronger in the e46 community too so I bet they will get the first of the android and non android units.

Do you have a confirmed picture or video of E9x Android unit? Cause its not on Dynavin's website, it's nowhere on google, it's not even on youtube.

As far as i'm concerned Android version for E9X doesn't exist yet cause I've contacted Dynavin myself and asked them.

Caraudiocraze told me they had 5 delivered friday and will have a video/picture up tomorrow. Back when i got my E9X unit from them, Dynavin didnt even have it listed yet on their site. They seem to be on the front lines for the US and Dynavin.
