Magic Mirror Project

So i recntly completed a magic mirror project that i build totaly from scratch

Built the frame inserted the tv and but together a small dashboard running on a Raspberry Pi3

I did have to source the 1 way mirror through a reputable glass shop...

Total budget was about 350. Had an old tv already. Im also working to get the Alexa Voice service installed on it today as well so it will work as an Alexa device through the TV

So what exactly does it do? I see that it’s a mirror with an electronic face on top.

Shows me weather local traffic and news feed and time. I can pretty much feed anything i want into it.

I specifically stained the frame this color to match my furniture. Looks bad??

Yeah pretty sure I don’t need to see myself looking at the weather or traffic or any other content, but well done. I think.

I love the idea but I think it would be a better application in a bathroom. Always see them at sports bars in the men's room.

Yeah, I generally see them in bathrooms as well (and only really at Ritz Carltons).

Nice to see weather and news updates when you are already going to be standing in front of a mirror for a few minutes.

Cool application though, the budget was a lot lower than I expected. I like the color and look in your living room overall, just not as useful.
