Do MV3s fit a F30/31?
Anyone know if the genuine 18" MV3 wheels are also suitable for the F30/31?
Bit of long term planning going on perhaps ....... |

Thanks been thinking about this as well.
Currently have on my e90 set of 194 17"wheels for winters and a set of 216s 18" wheels for summer. Might be changing cars and starting to work out what to do as rather not loose the 216s as love the look MV3 and 216 are 8J and 8.5J wheels with ET34 and ET37 Looking at F30 the one R18 I found on real oem the 398 model is a ET34 for 8J and ET47 for 8.5J so might not fit A real PITA seems will need to buy new wheels arghh

Guys if you are talking about straight swap then i am not sure if all will be well. But, if you want them to fit they 100% will albeit with some Spacers and arch work. Obviously you may not need to to do any work on the rears but many forums members run 11j rears. So point being it can be done.. in fact almost anything can be done.

Wouldn't be wanting to do any work to make them fit, would be using say MV3 as winter wheels therefore would need to just bolt straight on.
In the link above it gives offset for 8x18" wheels but not 8.5x18 rears, anyone know what it is? |

http://felgenkatalog.auto-treff.com/ is a great site for the correct offset, width, etc of all BMW wheel styles. It's in German but it's fairly intuitive using the dropdown menus at the top left.

I think thats where the prob lies looking at real oem the rears on F30 have offeset over 45 so no where near E90 which is a shame

Bit annoying, was hoping a set of winters bought now would potentially do for an F30/31 possibly in the future. Seems a new set of wheels would be needed. Are the 18" standard tyre sizes the same?

Folks
Check whether there's any difference in the wheel bolts are different between e9x an f3x. E9x has 12mm dia and read that maybe f3x has a different dia (14mm) If this is the case, check that f3x wheel bolts fit bolt holes on e9x wheels. |

If they do fit you will need to step up a profile increase. F30 uses larger diameter wheels. 225/40/18 will need to become 225/45/18 to fill the arches and maintain the rolling radius.

According to BMW website a 328I M Sport F30 hast 225/45/18 on front and 255/40/18 on rear.
Which is the same as the E90 M Sport on my 216 18" staggered setup anyway So leaving wheel bolts aside (unknown variable) its the ofset on the rears which is a killer in this case of keeping the E90 wheels for F30. It seems the ofset as per earlier post is far higher on F30 then on E90. The front is the same but not rear. Doh

Unless I've got it wrong the tyre profiles you quote for the e90 are incorrect?
Pretty confident my MV3s on my e90 are 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear which makes yet another difference to the f30
