Where are the coolant temp sensor(s)

I am getting yellow/red over heat msg and reduced power.

Thing is the engine is NOT overheating
Coolant level fine, oil temp (200f) normal, open the hood engine is NOT hot just normal

I suspect a sensor is bad, but where is it/are they?

2007 328i Coupe 50k miles.
Thanks
