for the ease of install, yes.
waiting on the helix myself and this is a great in-between until then as its got decent resale value and pretty easy to sell.

There have been several cases of SSTT limps. Harold at HP Autowerks, fotiki, RiXst3r and a few others. The way my car was pulling timing on 91 I'm certain I would have limped in warmer weather. But overall TT limps are few.

Does this mean the problem was with only 91 oct users?

HPautowerks were using DP and some other stuff which wasnt designed to be used with the SSTT. this in no way leads to the SSTT being the limp setter. was it ever proven that it was pulling timing? didnt follow that thread all the way thorugh but if im not mistaken, when shiv was asked about the dip he said it was normal in another thread and in some PROcede dynos. there hasnt been much limp mode from people with the sstt or people that can atualy prove it was directly related, i guess. btw i love mine, works great on 91 octane in warm months over 8k miles and not 1 issue. |

whan I had my sstt I never had any issues in 9000 miles of hard driving. I miss how easy it was to put on and off. I hate going in to the ecu with my jb2h. I guess im just lazy.

You may want to talk to the guys from Split Second about this. I read some other similar thread recently and they told him something to the effect that he had one of the oldest SSTT's and that they had fixed the issue in a later release and sent him a replacement / updated module at no cost.

I actually got a limp mode when I 1st installed it last week so I took it off, went back to stock, drove it around the block for awhile. I then let the car cool and installed the SSTT again and no limp mode and everything has been great so far.

that is correct. I got a limp with the SSTT and it was on my car for 3 weeks total.

When I had the SSTT, I was quite pleased. But I wanted more. So I sold the SSTT and upgraded to the JBS2. Ended up with extra cash in my pocket too .
SSTT is nice if you don't want to touch your ECU.
