Hi, I have a 58 plate e90 with idrive my car has AUX and USB in the centre console however each time i connect my iphone or ipod to it via aux and then click aux on idrive it jumps really fast and says no external device found and goes straight onto fm radio, I have even got myself the Y cable but still no luck, I have taken the port out cleaned it up and put it back in but still no joy. Any idea what it could be?

when you say aux are you on about the single pin phono jack socket?

that's strange even with nothing connected it should stay on aux. I know on my car I cant play media through the usb, only load it onto the hdd from usb. May have to check the connections under the centre consol.

IHave checked all the connections they seem fine, it does not stay on aux at all, as soon as i click on aux it jumps to fm radio, i know my TCU is missing out the boot but im not sure if this will be linked with it I highly doubt it as thats for bluetooth

Hmmm you never know all these things on these cars seem to tie into each other.
