It's real!!! My car was produced 2008-02-25 and I took it to the dealer yesterday because I was making CLOUDS with my car and was in limp mode. I called my service advisor and she said no, my car doesn't have any recalls. 10 minutes later she said she talked to the technician and he looked it up and it just hasn't hit dealers yet! This is literally the best timing in the world for me and she is getting it repaired now. Also, if your spark plugs are soaked due to this they are going to replace those free of charge as well!

We getting new fuel injectors!!

I will post an image of the service documents when I receive it back again.

Looks like I’m putting my old leaky index 8’s back in. I’d love an extra set of index 12’s 😀. Spoke to a friend who is a tech at BMW and he said this is happening, more details will be out in a few weeks.

If this is true this would be awesome. I have a set of brand new 12's that I still haven't installed. If so I'll be sure to post them on the forums for what I got them for(which is cheaper than can be found right now)

That’s a great question. In a perfect world, they would replace the current ones with new index 12’s and let you keep the old injectors as backups. Again, in a perfect world so that is highly unlikely. We’re still waiting for the details however, which may take a few weeks coming from my buddy whose a BMW certified technician.

If your car is in the build dates stated in this post you are good to go.

Yeah I am hoping it works out that way. Hoping my Service Advisor pushes it through that way! This would be great. Also, does your buddy know if they plan on replacing spark plugs as well if they are fouled from injectors?

He couldn’t elaborate on that, but they should give a free oil change while they’re at it since the oil is likely fuel-contaminated! He did say they’ll have a reimbursement program if you show receipts for injector work done. Stay tuned for more info!

They are replacing my spark plugs free of charge due to them being flooded by the injectors.
